ST. MICHAEL'S SCHOOL
St Michael’s celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2009.
Boys and girls are prepared for scholarship and entrance to all Independent Senior Schools.
A large variety of clubs and hobbies function within the school and many out-of-door activities, including surfing, sailing and photography are enjoyed by the children. Music, drama and art, which includes pottery, are all encouraged and a wide range of musical instruments are taught. There are three school choirs and two orchestras. The senior choir regularly competes in the Sainsbury Choir of the Year Competition.
For senior children there is an annual Activities’ Week. Year 6 have some Island-based pursuits and overnight trips to France and Herm, while Year 7 go to Brittany and Year 8 to the south of France. Each winter a party of children ski in Switzerland. Regular tours are made to Guernsey and England for sporting fixtures.
The academic and physical development, in addition to the spiritual, moral and cultural growth, of the whole child is the main aim of the school and every child is encouraged to fulfil his or her potential.
