JUNIOR DEPARTMENT - Forms 1 and 2 (Years 3 and 4)
Form 1 (Year 3)	Following plans - routes around school, routes around local area, local land use. Atlas work - index. Jersey parishes, places of interest. Compare and contrast with France; compare and contract with Greece. Detailed study of Greece. Holiday destinations - compare and contract with Jersey - looking at weather, temperature etc.	Food from around the world. Atlas work (emphasis on climate). Co-ordinates.	Rainforests - location, reason for destruction, animal extinction, peoples of the rainforest. Holiday destinations - compare and contrast with Jersey. Look at weather, temperature etc.

Form 2 (Year 4)	Jersey - its geographical location. Mapping skills - direction, co-ordinates.	India - compare and contrast locations and culture. Mapping skills - symbols, scale, plan view, basic contours.	Europe and Jersey - compare evironmental issues (a lot of oral discussion and follow up).
PRE-PREP AND NURSERY (Nursery to Year 2)
Nursery	Building awareness. Location of own home in correct parish. Placing Jersey as an Island in relation to England. Awareness of the school environment.	Mapping on foot around school. Visits to places around the Island (farm, airport, castle, beach).	Weather throughout the year with own chart and class recordings. Seasons throughout the year. Transport - flight.

Pre-Prep A (Reception)	Comparing local produce with fruit and vegetables from other countries. Harvest. Local area - St Catherine's Woods - stream, up and down. Night/day. Hibernation.	Weather - hot and cold countries. Bears - which countries they are found in (polar, brown bear habitats).	Sending a message around school. Map and journey around school. Sequences - classroom to ...... office etc. The beach.

Pre-Prep B (Year 1)	Barnaby Bear - where he travels. India - location, features, animals, food, clothes, Divali. Around our school - keeping it tidy, eg litter.	Barnaby Bear - where he travels. China - location, features, food, Chinese New Year. Around our school - keeping it safe, eg traffic and parking.	Barnaby Bear - where he travels Jersey - postcard from Parish where I live: name and address; route to and from school. Around our school - changes. People who help us - visits from firemen, policeman etc.

Pre-Prep C (Year 2)	Current affairs - news items, discusion about current affairs. Work based on contrasting Jersey to another Island. Physical and human features.	Current affairs - news items, discusion about current affairs. Life in a cold country. Similarities and differences with Jersey. Atlas/mapwork based on stories from other cultures.	Current affairs - news items, discusion about current affairs. Atlas/mapwork - holiday destinations. Comparisons with Jersey. Co-ordinates.
